Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6 KJV)
My middle of the road parents trained me in a moderate sort of way. The (relative) platonic ideal. Thus innoculating me from any great or ignominious destiny. And no doubt, I’ll pass along these same ways of being, perpetuating a family tree of inoffensive, capable, but ultimately irrelevant human beings. But we will be curious, and curating creatures, and perhaps with that, lies the possibility of change.
Two good stories.
When I train, I will hold both lightly in hand. A Mary Shelley monster of parenting.
